I’m 22w3d and pretty much everyday I’ve felt him since 21 weeks , there’s been a couple days more movement than others. Usually when I’m laying down for bed I feel him a lot. I think it’s been about 2 hours since I last felt him move but his heartbeat is going strong in there, I have a Doppler. It was kinda hard to find him on my Doppler.
Should I be concerned or just assume he’s sitting low and hiding?

Two hours isn’t a terribly concerning amount of time at this gestation. He could be in a different position but babies also sleep too! I would drink cold water or juice, eat a little snack, then lay down on your side or back and see if you feel anything. I’m only 22 weeks but go over 2 hours not feeling him frequently

@mtat22,
usually at night when I’m laying down , I feel him for a little bit before falling asleep. I didn’t tonight no matter how much poking I was doing to my belly

@momma968,
have you felt him today since getting up? My boy is most active when I first wake up, I roll on my back and feel him moving a lot before getting up. Once I’m up for the day I’m sure he is still moving, but I get distracted I don’t notice them as much. The kicks aren’t super strong yet so they’re easy to miss! I wish babies could just move and kick on demand for our peace of mind

@mtat22,
yes! I felt him this morning at work after I ate. I think he was just hiding deep in my pelvis, cause I had a hard time finding his heartbeat on the Doppler but i did find it

I don’t know what it is, but it must just be these boy babies but I can tell you that my last two pregnancies were girls and I felt so much movement by now I’m 23 weeks and one day, and I can tell you I hardly feel him at all so I think tomorrow I’m gonna be going in and getting an ultrasound but I think it’s just these boys

@Petersmm,
I think I’m gonna call my obgyn and leave them a message , i worry a lot, but like I said I heart his heartbeat, I just hadn’t felt anything for a while and it concerned me .

Definitely no need for concern. I think I was told not to expect or worry about consistent movement until closer to 28 weeks.
I’m 22w2d also with a boy and I’ve felt him daily for a few weeks but often don’t feel him move at all during the day until I lay down for bed. I think I’d only be concerned if I didn’t feel him for a full 24hrs.

Update!
I’ve been feeling babe move here and there now.
I can’t help but worry. I’m an emotional mess off my meds and I just want him to be okay.

@momma968,
I know.. whenever I don’t feel the baby, I stress and my mood is off and I can’t even concentrate on any work.. like my whole mind is there.. once I felt the movements again yesterday I was happy

I didn’t feel my baby for like 24 hrs.. Then felt again.. I was feeling the baby consistently for like 1-2 weeks.
I m FTM 21w3d.. I think its still pretty inconsistent.
2 hours is nothing to worry about
My dr said movement will be inconsistent till 22-24 weeks

it’s fine. You heard the heartbeat. Baby is still so small in there. It’s not until later that you should be concerned with lack of movement and kick counts

I am 23 weeks and found at 22 weeks there were a few days when I couldn’t feel baby at all for long stretches of time. This was super concerning to me since there is always so much action throughout the day since like 16 weeks. I think some days they roll into different positions and perhaps it’s more difficult to feel their kicks when they are facing towards your back for example?

@MrsJohnson2025,
I started feeling him this morning at work and pretty often since then. I’m wondering if he was just tucked away. It just made me nervous because I’ve felt him consistently at night during bed time and then nothing last night

@momma968,
I felt the same way and whipped my Doppler out too hahahah. Now the baby hasn’t stopped moving for like 2 days straight. Way to scare us for nothing, children

I had the same! 22w2d and baby did not move as much for like 12hrs despite everything I tried and I was panicking. The next day, nonstop movement! I was told baby can be less active during growth spurts and not to start tracking movement yet since he’s so little still.

you don't count kicks or monitor fetal movement until 28 weeks because they are still so small and yes, they can hide a bit or be moving around too much to quickly pick up a HR on a doppler.

I don’t feel my babe too often, the past two weeks she’s been head down, facing my spine and placenta so my placenta and lungs/organs absorbs the kicks, i check with the Doppler and feel better about it. But you can also drink some juice or coffee and lay on your back to try to encourage some movement, even poke around on your tummy
